The first image is Called "San Francisco China Town" This image was taken when I was in Photography School on Victoria B.C. We took a year end trip down Highway 101 from Washington, through Oregon, down to California. This image was shot with Colour slide film, Fuji Chrome Provia 100. It measures 11"X14" and with the matting and framing it is 16"X20" $450.00
The Next image is "An Adventure" in St Kitts. We had rented a jeep touring around the Island, drove inland and saw this road we thought we should take. This image was shot with Kodak TMAX 400, enlarged to 40"X50" and plak mounted. $700.00
"Awake" is one of my most favourite paintings, I was diagnosed about 10 years ago with mental illness and was creating some pretty dark pieces. This was more of a transformation when I was able to conquer the burning inside of me. This piece was created using, acrylic, oils and some plaster. It is very large measuring: 78"X68" and stretched on canvass. $2200.00
"Discovery" was one of my earlier pieces, the discovery wasn't that there was this blue ocean, cleansing and refreshing me, it was the discovery that the dark, oil-like sadness was moving forward to suffocate me. The piece was done with acrylic and measures 66"X54" $1200.00
"Healing Hands" was originally meant for someone that always had something to say about me. When I moved back home from living out west, I opened up a studio in my small town of Wellesley, Ontario. I did alright, but there were always people ready to criticize you. One women, who shall remain nameless (since she has passed away), would always bug me for slacking off and thought my studio idea was a way to get out of work. Little did she know that on my return home I had asked my old boss in the construction industry if I could work when I wasn't busy with my studio and he gladly agreed. The photograph I took using a cable release in my mouth to depict my hard working hands, complete with scars and a black thumb from being out there and trying to support my small studio. The frame was given to me by a women along time ago that she had found in her garage and thought I might want to use it for something. The image is Black and white, using Kodak TMax 400, with the frame, which I thought went along with the image nicely, measures 31"X27" $750.00
"Look for Order out of Chaos" Simply put, I have learned to do this, to slow my life down and to really truly find those moments and hold on to them. Even when what you are looking at might try to discourage that. This painting is Acrylic on canvass and measures 57"X70" $600.00
"Looking back" and "Looking Forward" were both my experiments with multiple imagery. They were both done with film cameras. No digital photography was used. " Looking Back" If you look closely, the man standing waiting is the man in the photograph falling from the brief case" With the photograph "Looking forward" I went back to the same place to capture what she was "Looking forward" to seeing. I always have favourite spots that I go back to and it's like I'm carrying that image with me, hoping, but knowing that it will be as I remembered. Of course "Looking Back", keeps me grounded when you're to caught up with things that really don't matter. It often takes me a look in the mirror to set me straight. Both images were taken using Kodak TMaxx 400 film and both measure "40X50 I am asking $1200 a piece, or if you like both, we could come to some sort of agreement.
